The Story of Tanya & Steve Tanya Kennedy and Steve Luminati first met in March 1996. Steve was sharing a house with four Air Force Lieutenants in Annandale, Virginia, just a few miles from their posts at the Pentagon. They were about to split up and leave the house, but they decided to have one last St. Patrick's Day Party. Tanya heard about the party through mutual friends living in Crystal City, Virginia. Steve and Tanya met briefly that evening, but didn't really make an impression. However, one of Tanya's friends had taken to Steve. What ensued was several months of group outings originally designed with the intent to bring together Steve and Lori. However, as the group began to get to know Steve a bit better, it became clear that he was not actually her type, but was in fact very similar to Tanya. Their first "solo" outing - just the two of them - was attending the DragonHeart movie Memorial Day weekend of 1996. Unfortunately, Tanya had just had her tonsils removed, so conversation was fairly one-sided (But Steve is an excellent talker, so everything was just fine). A canoe trip in late summer, where Tanya craftily managed to get the two of them in the same canoe, led to their first formal date in September 1996. The rest is legend.* The ensuing years were a whirlwind of activities, laughter, and fun with family and friends. Voyages have included trips to the Renaissance Festival, Busch Gardens in Colonial Williamsburg, Lake Pleasant and Mt. Kearsarge in New Hampshire, the Poconos in Pennsylvania (for JokiFest), Boston, Dublin (Ireland), and northern France. And of course there have been uncounted voyages into the myriad worlds of role-play gaming - a love that they both share - including Everquest's Norrath, Diablo's Tristram, all the worlds of Final Fantasy VII-X, and of course Destiny Realms' Sumlaude. The climax of it all was their Engagement, on the road to the 24th Annual Maryland Renaissance Festival, in October 2000. That's when they decided to reserve their own personal car on the roller coaster of life, and it's been a fabulous ride since then. Tanya and Steve currently live in Springfield, Virginia, in their first home with their beloved cats, Monty and Ashai. By day, they are small-tech professionals … Tanya works at the Matrix Group in Alexandria, VA, as a Project Manager for the MatrixMaxx Software team. Steve also works in a small technology company in Alexadria, Virginia as its Director of Systems. By night, they are pursuing their creative passions … Tanya is working on her online cartoon strip, Geeks, and Steve is working on three separate gaming systems under the umbrella of Destiny Realms. *Note.
